Privacy Policy

Your clients’ data is your obligation. We treat it as ours.

This policy is written to be read. If anything in it is unclear, legal@logicfirm.com.au will give you a straight answer rather than a longer version of the same paragraph.

Logic Firm Pty Ltd ("Logic Firm", "we", "us") provides legal practice-management software to law firms. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information, and how we handle the data our customers store in the platform.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This is a sample policy provided for the marketing site and should be reviewed by counsel before publication.

1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly, such as your name, work email, firm details and billing information, and information generated as you use the platform.

  • Account and contact details for users at your firm
  • Billing and transaction records
  • Usage and diagnostic data (log data, device and browser information)
  • Content your firm stores in matters, documents and ledgers ("Customer Data")

2. How we use information

We use personal information to provide, secure and improve the service, to process payments, to provide support, and to communicate with you about your account.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use Customer Data except to provide the service to your firm.

3. Customer Data & controllership

Your firm is the controller of the Customer Data you store in Logic Firm; we act as a processor, handling it only on your instructions and as needed to run the service.

You remain responsible for the lawful handling of your clients’ information within the platform.

4. Disclosure to third parties

We share information only with sub-processors that help us run the service (for example, cloud hosting and payment processing), all bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations, or where required by law.

5. Security

We protect information with encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, continuous monitoring and independently audited controls. See our Trust & Compliance page for detail.

6. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to comply with legal obligations. On termination, Customer Data is deleted or returned in line with your agreement.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. Contact us to make a request; we will respond within the timeframes required by the Privacy Act.

8. Data location

Customer Data is hosted in Australia by default. Enterprise customers may select alternative regions. Some sub-processors may handle limited data outside Australia under appropriate safeguards.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the service or by email, and the "last updated" date above will change.
